This Privacy Policy explains how juliablish.com ("we", "us", the "Site") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit the Site, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Site.
Information we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups. When you join our reading circle, we store the email address you provide so we can send you updates and your free gift.
- Contact messages. If you use the contact form, we store your name, email address, and message so we can reply.
- Link analytics. When you follow one of our short links (juliablish.com/s/…), we log the click with a timestamp, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, and a one-way hashed (non-reversible) form of your IP address. We do not store your raw IP address.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our server may keep standard access logs for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
The public Site uses only a single essential cookie to keep your session secure (for example, to protect forms against cross-site request forgery). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies on the public Site.
How we use your information
- To send the newsletter and deliver your free download.
- To respond to your messages.
- To understand which links are clicked, in aggregate, so we can improve our content.
- To keep the Site secure and functioning.
Third-party services
- Amazon. Our books are sold on Amazon, and product links are Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases. When you click through to Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy and terms apply.
- Email delivery. Newsletter and contact emails are sent using Google's Gmail SMTP service.
- Social media. We may share our own articles on our Facebook Page. Visiting or interacting with those posts is subject to Facebook's privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Contact messages are kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry. Aggregated link-click data may be kept for as long as the link exists.
Your choices and rights
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
To make any request, email blishjulia@gmail.com.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
